I really did drive this setup on the road to get firewood from my co-worker who lived ~50Km north of me.  Backing up was a bitch ;D

It wasn't to bad driving it, and your right, the only times I saw the wood splitter is when I went around corners.  I did have the magnetic turn signals on the fenders of the splitter.  They actually stayed on even over moderately bumpy roads.  I don't attempt this very often, I'm sure it is legal because I do have the signals and brake lights hooked up.  And the trailer does have a proper receiver and safety chains to tow with and is wired so I can just plug in the magnetic signals.  But since not too many people tow like this I don't want to attract  the local coppers' attention.

As far as backing this up.  I didn't even attempt it ;D

I've hauled most of the stuff thats already been posted, snomobile, utility trailer, landscaping supplies, building supplies, groceries, toys and my robust behind everyday.  The load that gave me the most concern though was when I flat towed my Toyota on a towbar 160 miles.  The I5 had a good workout that day!  So did the brakes too for that matter... ::)
