K&N
« on: May 16, 2010, 02:48:58 AM »
Ok  it seems that just about everyone has upgraded to K&N air filters and intake so now I'm thinking about it. Is there any real diff to them. I'm gonna start with air filter first

the benefits have been dyno proven. I think K&N has the numbers on their website. The difference is better throttle response, increased air flow and good looks/sound. Any improvement in allowing your engine to breath is a +! The only thing I dont like about K&N is it requires oil, which if applied too heavy may screw with the MAF. I ran K&N for years but have recently switched to AEM because it requires no oil. its a Dryflow filter :) either way its a def must on these trucks. I would suggest getting a CAI to really see the difference. you can always purchase a filter and build the rest :) http://canada355.com/forums/index.php/topic,52.0.html

The filter takes oil? Am I understanding you right lol. Is just changing the filter enough without the whole intake

out of the box its ready to go. when its time to clean it, you oil it when its dry and reinstall.

doing an entire intake is a snap. very easy skill level wise :)

i would go with the intake right off the bat, cuz if ur gonna upgrade to a cai most likely u wont be able to reuse the filter and thats liek 80 down the drain, my intake mad a huge difference on my truck and everyone thought i added a exhaust system to my truck when it was just the intake lol
