well that settles it! to quote the article: Grey was second, at 11-per-cent riskier, and our Canadian favourite, silver, came in third with a 10-per-cent margin

Had another road camo incident today! I was coming home on a two lane stretch of hwy, after taking my family to salmon valley for a swim, a slow moving farm tractor pulling a bailer behind it nearly slammed into me! I attempted to pass him in the left lane. As I was at about at his rear tire he started moving into my lane. In a split second it was take the hit on my passenger side and get pushed into the on coming lane with a truck about 100-150 meters away! I tapped the brakes to see if he would get past me, no good! the bailer he was hauling is still coming at me!!! I mashed the gas and just got past him before he pushed me into the oncoming truck!!!!!! Dam good thing these trucks have one hell of a top end cause I just made it  :o

Thats it I gotta try something, decals, more lights, DOT reflective tape I dunno  :-\  I hope my body lift helps  ???

Now that I think of it, all my road camo incidents have been someone on the right turning into me! blind spots on that side must not help the matter.

My truck is red so I don't have any problems with it, but I do know what you mean. You need then mentality of a motorcyclist, just pretend the whole world is out to get you.  You have no idea how many times each season I have to basically endo to stop before hitting somebody that cut me off.  The worst is people turning right on reds, they try not to stop and even if they look right at you they still don't see you. Solution: if they can't see you there make sure that they can HEAR you there!  My bikes have glass packed exhaust that's basically hollow, you can hear me coming from a few blocks away.  I know there might be some by-laws and stuff to consider, but a louder truck will be more noticed.

That's a good point.  At least you can take comfort in the fact that the trucks are more substantial than a Porsche Speedster!

That totally sux! :( Were you stopped?  I hope it gets fixed also.  Every day that goes by I get more and more convinced that all silver vehicles are invisible to other drivers.  It's not only me that nearly misses and accident cause someone did not see me, but it's also the other people out there that bought a silver car or truck.  But it's not just the vehicles, it's also people.  I have to cross 2 major roads in downtown Edmonton (Jasper ave and 116 St) to get from where I park my truck to work and even trying to cross I have almost been hit by people to busy looking left for traffic while turning right.  One time I stepped off the curb and if my coworker didn't grab my arm and pull me back I would of spent the rest of that day in emerg I'm sure.  The FJ did stop right in front of us and I yelled at the lady to watch it.  Her excuse was she was looking for traffic coming, well how about looking for pedestrians first when approaching a cross walk you dumb cow! >:(   Anyway I am done ranting, sorry about that. :-[   Where are you taking it for repairs?  The reason I ask is I know some great body shops that deal with us at work.  Keep in mind you can take your truck where ever you want, not where the insurance company wants you to go.  If they want an estimate done at a certain shop take the truck there and get the estimate, but once that is done go where you want.  Good luck man!
