« on: August 25, 2010, 05:48:20 PM »
Well went to go do my skyjacker lift, can't find a 1 7/8" deep socket anywhere! Need it to get my CV retaining nut out to take off the old nuckle... Princess Auto site says they don't carry any, nore does Canadian tire.

what you want is a hub nut socket/axle nut socket, both those places have those. the employees prolly dont know about them. It'll be large/black like an impact socket and 1/2 drive. Try a local parts store they should have something.
check out http://canada355.com/forums/index.php/topic,499.0.html as well if you need any specs not listed just let me know in that thread and Ill get it for ya!

ANNNNND I'm pissed. Went to put in my PA 3" body lift, guess what? Those 200mm bolts really were only 19mm, AND the wrong diameter... They slide right past the threads of the cab mounts!

I came home just so I could isntall my lifts and I can't do either of them now since 33s won't fit with just the 4inch suspension lift, I needed the Body lift to clear them.

Now I get to go put the truck that is in pieces back together with zero progress made and nothing but frustration at the fact that I'll be doing this in the winter in a freezing cold garage... Thanks PA.

Not wasting any more vacation time on it, gonna go hang out with the gf and take my frustration out on her... In a nice way.

do you have a industrial supplies store. I got the bolts I needed for my BL from a wire rope place.
The bolts you need are (6 ) 12mm x 1.75 x 140mm
                                (8 ) 14mm x 2.00 x 200mm

Any bolt supply house or similar store should have everything you need.

BL is done aside from lengthening my fuel hose and putting the bumpers on, front suspension is all ripped apart, hit a snag with the torsion bars.
They won't slide out of the mount on the a-arms, so I'm planning on grinding the bolts of it out to take the mount and t-bar in one piece, hopefully I can then get to the lower rear a-arm mount.

I'm assuming that lower a-arm bolt is NOT holding on the t-bar mount on the a-arm from the inside... 'cause the grinder is coming out!

dude dont grind anything off !!!! how do you have the truck lifted and supported? also try lubing the torsion bar where it goes into the A arm with wd40 or something.
